Andy biggs riot11/23/2023 Brooks is running in Alabama’s crowded Senate GOP primary this year, but his showing in the polls hasn’t been strong and Trump rescinded an endorsement, accusing Brooks of going “woke.” The panel’s ask of Brooks comes as he revealed in a March statement that the former president had floated attempts to rescind the 2020 election and restore himself to the presidency. “I will not participate in the illegitimate Committee’s ruthless crusade against President Trump and his allies,” Jackson said. In a statement later Monday, he rejected the panel’s inquiry and said he did not know or have contact with “those who exchanged text messages about me on January 6.” Jackson has told POLITICO he had never heard of the Oath Keepers or Rhodes before the Jan. Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers, replied: “Help with what” and “Give him my cell.” He has critical data to protect,” one unidentified person wrote in a Jan. A recently revealed trove of text messages showed conversations among Oath Keepers about members of Congress, including Jackson. The committee said it wanted to ask Jackson about potential contacts or knowledge of members of the far-right Oath Keepers militia group. The Arizona Republican said in a tweet he would “not be participating” with the panel. Trump ultimately did not pardon any Republican lawmakers in the wake of the Capitol attack. In its letter to Biggs, the committee said multiple House Republican lawmakers sought presidential pardons “for activities taken in connection with President Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.” The committee cited former White House personnel - many of whom have spoken with its investigators in recent weeks - as the basis for that statement.īiggs, a former chair of the pro-Trump House Freedom Caucus, was named as “a potential participant in that effort,” according to the committee, which said its investigators want to know about the efforts to secure pardons. The two urged their fellow lawmakers to testify: “We urge our colleagues to join the hundreds of individuals who have shared information with the Select Committee to get to the bottom of what happened on January 6th.“

Poland battle of vienna11/23/2023 So the Ottomans dug tunnels under the city walls to be filled with black powder to blow up the walls. The houses around the city walls of Vienna were intentionally demolished to leave the Ottomans exposed to the defensive fire. The leader of the remaining troops refused to capitulate, as he heard the news of the surrounding city Perchtoldsdorf and the mass slaughter that happened there even though the city had surrendered to the Ottomans. On July 14, the Ottoman army laid siege and Kara Mustafa sent the demand for the surrender of the city. He also got no support from Louis XIV of France, who refused to help. Polish king John III Sobieski took to the besieged Vienna, risking tensions with German states, like Austria, mainly because of the matter of the cost of the upcoming war and the payments of the soldiers. On their way, they were also joined by 40,000 Crimean Tatar troops outside of Vienna. In April of 1683 the Ottoman army, with the support of Grand Vizier Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha, began moving towards Vienna, joined by a Transylvanian army under Prince Mihaly Apafi and a Hungarian force under Imre Thököly - some 150,000 men. The Holy Roman Empire concluded an alliance with Poland in 1683’s Treaty of Warsaw, where Holy Roman Emperor Leopold and Polish king John (Jan) III Sobieski promised to help each other out if the Ottomans were to attack them. As the Ottomans took a lot of time to attack, the Holy Roman Empire had a lot of time to prepare and organize its allies and the plan of defence. The Ottoman forces were mobilized on 21 January 1682 and in August of the year, they declared a war against the Holy Roman Empire, which was, at the time, trying to take control over Hungary. The Ottomans knew that and provided military assistance to the Hungarians and the non-Catholic minorities in the Habsburg-occupied territories, hoping for their support when the time came for Ottomans to take control, promising them a recognized Kingdom of Vienna in return. Torn by religious and political conflicts, it was the perfect spot to become a playground of foreign forces. Hungary was not internally a stable country in the years preceding the siege. The first unsuccessful siege of Vienna took place in 1529, led by Suleiman the Magnificent. The Ottoman Empire had a strategic intent of capturing the city of Vienna due to its power and control of the trade routes. Its members were the Papal States, The Holy Roman Empire, the Venetian Republic, the Tsardom of Russia and, of course, the Polish-LIthuanian Commonwealth. The time from 1683 to 1699 is known as the Third Polish-Ottoman War, a part of the Great Turkish War, beginning with the conflict and the Polish victory in the battle of Vienna.Īnother important union to remember during this time in history is the one known as the Holy League (or Sacra Ligua in Latin), an alliance organized by Pope Innocent XI in 1684, with a wish to oppose the Ottoman Empire with combined forces of its opponents. The state collapsed after the Third Partition of Poland in 1795.ĭuring that time, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth fought against outside enemies, one of them being the Ottomans, who planned to seize Europe. Officially, the union lasted from 1569, though the personal union began with the marriage of the Polish queen and Lithuania’s Grand Duke. As such, it was one of the largest countries of what was then eastern Europe. In 1683, Poland was the part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, a dual state or a bi-confederation of Poland and Lithuania led by a common monarch. Fought against the Ottoman empire and led by Polish King Jan III Sobieski, this achievement forbid the Ottomans from taking over the continent. The battle of Vienna/siege of Vienna in 1683 changed the course of European history forever.

Stainless steel polish for guns11/22/2023 However, because stainless guns show powder residue more than regular blued guns, you often find yourself fighting a battle around muzzles, revolver cylinders, and any parts that regularly experience powder residue.Īlong with using one of the best stainless steel gun cleaners you can afford to keep your gun looking pristine, you’ll want to use a good stainless or brass brush ( see it here) on the affected areas. You need to use a solvent and brushes to clean the bore, a lube on the moving parts, and maybe a fine wax or preservative to maintain the finish. If you need a true all-purpose gun cleaner that won’t make you sick from fumes or damage your surroundings, then you’ve found what you are looking for.įor the most part, cleaning your stainless steel gun is the same as cleaning any other gun. We all know how clever the Germans can be when it comes to making environmentally friendly products (they even have a Green Party in Germany, and it’s actually made of more than 3 people), and they really hit a home run with Ballistol. In fact, using Ballistol will also clean and preserve your wooden stocks, leather slings, holsters and belts, plus stainless steel. German engineered Ballistol is biodegradable yet manages to cut carbon fouling, lubricate, and protect stainless steel gun finishes.Įqually useful on natural materials like wood and leather, Ballistol is one of those rare cleaners you can use on your gun without having to make sure it doesn’t touch your stock or sling. However, one of the best stainless steel gun cleaners for the money is also one of the best for the environment. A lot of cleaning solvents are toxic and petroleum based.

2022 buick encore gx problems11/22/2023 Yes the rear window provides limited visibility but I can still see just fine as there are side mirrors and its easy to look over shoulder if needed when changing lanes and visibility out back side windows is very good. They designed this for just about anyone really. I can see purchasing this for college students, medical professionals, professional athletes, commuters, or even someone who is retired. To be able to get full size and automated moon roof, fully automatic driver seat with the lumbar, very good leg room, with superior tech interface and a ton of safety features, good gas mileage, and the reputation ofīuick, a 30k price tag in 2022, is actually a really good deal. The passenger seat is super comfortable and the lumbar is a huge plus. I was concerned when Buick phased out their large regal sedans but these are really nice and although they are small SUV they are more like large compacts. The rest are out of Korea, United States, and Mexico. I also like that very few parts are from China. The price point seems to be on target and competes well with Honda and Subaru and Mazda and personally feel that the options in these and luxury factor make this a solid choice. If you don't need a full size suv and don't want to compromise luxury, this is a great option. Full sun roof that is fully automatic as well. The tech interface is extremely user friendly. Not sure how to get to 30mpg as advertised but still not bad on gas mileage at all. First time out on trip out of town I got about 24mpg average and that was mostly highway. Handles well on curves and with the option to shift into low and the plus and minus buttons on the side (which are very sturdy by the way) allow even better power going up hills. I can see taking this to play tennis or golf. First vehicle I have had that is not real leather and it doesn't bother me and I actually feel that is stays cooler on hot days and is just as comfortable and easier to clean. This vehicle provides conservative luxury mixed with a little sporty look. Loss of star for small cargo space although it is just fine for groceries or piece of luggage or some sports equipment. But there is room in the back for small children so this could be a great starter suv for a young family first car. This is a perfect size for someone who is single or married with no children. I use it mostly for short commute to work and every couple months will take it out of town. Well worth the extra 3k to get the sport touring package. I got the 2022 encore gx preferred fwd with sport touring.

Viking triangles11/22/2023 They are all clearly the Celtic trinity knot. However, these variations may have similar meanings. It is common in Celtic cultural contexts. The valknut comes in a variety of shapes, including one with rounded edges known as triquetra. Thus, valknut tattoos are very common in recent days. But, if you want to keep the meanings hidden. As a result, you can get the great Valknut meaning slain warriors tattoo. Also, most will have no idea what it represents. What’s great about the symbol is that you don’t have to explain its depth to others. If you believe in reincarnation or simply enjoy the concept, this could be a very cool way to demonstrate it. The Valknut tattoo can also represent reincarnation, as many people see the interlocking circles as representing the various dimensions of the world. This is because you are doing so with a pretty design that also has more than one special meaning attached to it. This is a very creative way to remember someone who has passed away. So, we associate Valknut heavily with battles. This is especially true for those who have lost a loved one in a war. They are honouring a deceased loved one or friend. People have given the most common meaning to Valknut tattoos. For many years people use Valknut, which means “knot for those fallen in battle,” to honour fallen Viking soldiers. But it often means much more to those who get the tattoo. We see it to be a simple symbol of three interlocked triangles. Also, who discovers that the Valknut has other meanings that work for them. The triangled Valknut tattoo is an excellent choice for anyone who enjoys Norse mythology. The interlocking triangles were thought to represent the link between Earth, Hell (the underworld), and the Heavens. People widely used and thought Valknut to symbolise the significant “threes” in life because it is made up of three triangles.įor example, archaeologists linked it to fertility, rebirth, and reincarnation. The three triangles intertwined represent the realms of heaven, earth, and hell. The nine points or sides of the three triangles represent the Nine Worlds of Norse mythology, according to Norse mythology. Read Also: What does an anchor symbolize? | Know its significance & importanceĪ nice story about the valknut relates it to reincarnation. Also, they wear it as a pendant, ring, or tattoo. Some people still regard this symbol as a source against evil. The symbol also refers to the warriors gathered from the battlefield by the Valkyries and brought to Valhalla. This is because valknut translates to “knots of those fallen in battle”. Along with this, the power of the god Odin to “bind and unbind”. We also say that it represents the edge between life and death. We commonly refer to the valknut as Odin’s knot. Making sense of the various stories about their meaning always returns to Norse mythology. People interpret the significance of the symbol valknut meaning slain warriors in many ways. We can portray it as a triangular version of Borromean rings, the trefoil knot or triquetra (unicursal), or as a closed three-link chain. It depends on an artist’s or designer’s thoughts. The Valknut’s formation, like its origin and meaning, varies. Valknut appears frequently in objects associated with Nordic paganism and in locations occupied by ancient Germanic tribes. We don’t know its exact meaning despite the fact that it is made up of three joined triangles. From runestones in Sweden to ship graves in Norway, these ancient Viking structures can be found all over Scandinavia. It dates from the Viking Age, roughly 800 to 1150. It is a common symbol that people can find carved or etched in memorials and runestones. People form the symbol valknut meaning slain warriors from three interlocking triangles. The symbol has also become a popular design for company logos and even sports teams. The valknut is still a prime symbol for a certain Germain faith today. Meanwhile, people say that some depictions of Odin with valknuts represent the afterlife. Another story mentions the Norse God Odin and his ability to “bind and unbind” the human mind. People say that someone made the giant Hrungnir’s stone with three sharp corners in the book. It is similar to the valknut we know today. There are accounts that refer to a description of the ‘Hrungnir’s heart’ in the 13th-century book Prose Edda. The symbol valknut meaning slain warriors’ origins are as mysterious as the symbol itself. What is the Viking symbol for Valhalla?.
